Forza Motorsport Will Not Have A Native Xbox One Release

It has been revealed that Forza Motorsport will not receive a native Xbox version despite the rumours that it would be released for old-gen and current-gen consoles. However, according to a blog post on the Forza Motorsport website, Xbox One players will be able to grab the game as a cloud version via the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Confusion came after the first Developer Direct hosted by Xbox was aired earlier this week. Although this showcase gave fans more information on Minecraft Legends, Hi-Fi RUSH, Elder Scrolls Online and Redfall, it appeared that the only game that did not receive a release date was Forza Motorsport but merely mentioned a 2023 release.

Xbox One players will have to play Forza Motorsport through a cloud version.

Forza’s blog post said, “While there will not be a native Xbox One version of the game, Xbox One players can stream Forza Motorsport through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate” as well as promising their “most beautiful, technically advanced game yet.” However, this news has come after leaks last year (courtesy of Euro Gamer) that Motorsport would be getting an Xbox One release as well as the Xbox Series and PC. It now appears that despite the leaked images, this is not the case. It is worth noting however that these were released in July 2021 and Turn10 may have originally planned to release it across all platforms but decided to change their direction.

This news has not deterred fans who are excited for the next generation of Forza racing. According to the official website, the game has promised to “look real, sound real and feel real through our cars, tracks and audio that deliver a generational leap in fidelity, immersion and realism.” It will also feature over 500 of the world’s best cars, over 800 modifications and upgrades and over 20 maps set to be available on release day.
