Get Fi(s)t With Fist of the North Star Fitness Boxing

Iconic Japanese manga and anime franchise Fist of the North Star is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of…a boxing-based exercise game? Not only that, but a boxing-based exercise game officially revealed using the series’ most iconic meme, “Omae wa mo shindeiru” or “You are already dead?” One of the most surprising announcements during the September 13 Nintendo Direct livestream event, Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star is coming to the Nintendo Switch in March 2023. It will be the third game in the Fitness Boxing series, following Fitness Boxing in 2018 and Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise in 2020.

The new Fitness Boxing game will include three different modes, each featuring iconic characters from Fist of the North Star. In Exercise Mode, various Fist of the North Star characters, including hero Kenshiro, will serve as your instructor and teach you a variety of boxing moves. Battle Mode pits players against multiple waves of enemies, requiring them to punch their way through their foes without stopping. Finally, in Boss Battle Mode, players will be able to challenge Fist of the North Star characters to intense one-on-one battles that will require a high level of skill to defeat. A boss battle against Jagi, one of the major villains from the series and a rival of Kenshiro, was shown in the trailer.

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star will release for the Nintendo Switch sometime in March 2023, with an official release date not yet announced. Although this has not been officially confirmed, it is likely that the game will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive due to its heavy use of the Switch’s JoyCon technology. It has also not been confirmed whether the game will have a physical release or whether it will be a digital release exclusive to the Nintendo Switch eShop.
