The latest trailer from Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 5 may have teased a five-man squad set to disembark from a landing helicopter, a first for the battle-royale mode. As seen in the first second of the teaser, five soldiers appear to be ready to deploy from the helicopter as it lands amidst a dust cloud inside the Verdansk stadium. The theory was posted to Reddit with the question being raised, are five-man squads on the way to Warzone?
On July 13, an official Shadow Company trailer for the fifth season was released. The teaser confirms the August 5 release date, following weeks of rumors and leaks. As the title of the trailer reads, a new group is calling themselves the Shadow Company will be making their mark within the battle royale's next season.
The trailer reveals that Armistice, an alliance led by Modern Warfare's lead protagonist, Captain Price, a collective of Coalition and Allegiance factions, is no more. Following the collapse of the treaty, a voice-over coldly announces that chaos has set in.
Now, the Shadow Company is taking control, a splinter group "formed without compromise, ready to take the war directly to Mr. Z and into Verdansk and deal with terrorist threats directly."
According to a post via the Activision Blog, Shadow Company "operates outside the boundaries of the original Armistice." The post goes on to say: "forged from the fires of in-fighting between the Coalition and the Allegiance, Shadow Company has a framework and agenda all of their own."
There's been no word yet on a Season 5 Battle Pass, or in regards to new content. Less than a week remains for the current Season 4 pass.
Twitch streamer NICKMERCS was recently given an exclusive sneak preview from Infinity Ward. The teaser, reported by Charlie Intel, is short and grainy at best but leaves us in little doubt that Season 5 will feature loot trains.
