A new trailer for Persona 5 Royal has dropped, putting the spotlight on one of the Phantom Thieves.
The latest Persona 5 Royal trailer focuses on Ryuji Sakamoto. The trailer begins with Ryuji having an interaction with Yusuke, as well as talking to the protagonist. The trailer then introduces a new Persona for Ryuji, whom he calls William. The trailer ends with a new team-attack between Ryuji and Yusuke. The attack features the two of them in a bar, where Yusuke serves Ryuji a hot bowl of ramen. An enemy bursts through the door, and Ryuji and Yusuke proceed to draw their guns on it and shower it with bullets. The attack ends with a grenade being lobbed at the enemy, which is set off with a shot from Yusuke. We have seen hints at new team attacks, but this is the first time that we have seen one in full.
This is not the first character trailer that we have received for Persona 5 Royal. Earlier this month, a trailer for the latest Phantom Thief, Kasumi Yoshizawa, was released. In the trailer, we see Kasumi spending time with the protagonist at the batting cages and at a gift shop. We also see the awakening of her Persona, Cindrillon, in what looks like a brand new dungeon. We then get to see her All-Out Attack scene, which features her dancing with a ribbon wand. The trailer also briefly shows that Kasumi will wield a rapier in battle, and gives us a hint at what her personality will be like.
Persona 5 Royal will release for in Japan on October 31 for the PlayStation 4. The title will then make its way over to the west sometime in 2020.
