Leak Hints At PS5 Start Up In Future of Gaming Event

Yesterday, Sony revealed the first official appearance of the Playstation 5 to the gaming world.

Now, it appears Sony may have introduced the PS5’s start-up screen into the middle of the presentation. As posted by Ben Hanson on Twitter, the clip lasts thirteen seconds, beginning with the traditional information screen reading: “See important health and safety warnings in the Settings menu.”

Then, as the screen fills with glittering particles and a ray of light, the Playstation logo appears at the center, headed by the sentence: “press the PS Button on your controller.”

A short tone is heard at the end of the clip above ambient strings and pads in the background, indicating the PS button has been pressed. Of course, this short clip is purely speculative and will remain so unless Sony confirms otherwise.

It may have been merely a filler screen to bridge the wait between each game reveal, but if not, it would mean this is the first visual taster for the next-gen console, expected for a Holiday 2020 release.

Yesterday’s Future Of Gaming confirmed a tonne of new titles. They include Horizon: Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Hitman 3, Gran Turismo 7, an updated GTA V, and Resident Evil 8: Village.

Understandably then, a short thirteen-second clip would have been easy to miss, but it’s undoubtedly got a lot of people wondering.

The official hardware reveal trailer of the next-gen console, as seen above, presented the gaming world with the first look at the PS5, from its sleek design, black and white finish, to the additional announcement of a new “Digital Edition” version.
