Modern Warfare II Beta Bugs Addressed In New Patch

As the second weekend of the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II beta gets underway, Infinity Ward has released a community article detailing changes made for the weekend ahead. Among the alterations made to the beta, player visibility has been improved, making enemy targets easier to spot on the battlefield. Following a backlash from the Call of Duty community, any improvements to these issues would be highly welcomed.

In one clip from Reddit user u/llWhiskeySourll, seen below, via the Modern Warfare II subreddit, their screen is completely lost within a clouding effect compared to the smoke monster from Lost – while other users make references to Stephen King’s The Mist. Here’s hoping the latest patch from Infinity Ward will fix this highly frustrating bug.

In another clip uploaded by Reddit account u/22hz, an enemy target standing inside a darkened hallway is almost invisible to the player. Another account, u/GT-Ranz uploaded their troubles with visibility bugs in the game, in which looking through a sniper scope causes a smoke cloud to disappear.

Wow, people weren’t kidding about the poor visibility.

With visibility issues high on Infinity Ward’s list of problems to fix, another is audio, and it’s one they’ve addressed extensively. For one, the studio has decreased the distance from which players can hear footsteps, whether they be enemies or allies. Furthermore, enemy audio will become more distinct with the introduction of an equaliser to “soften ally footsteps versus enemy footsteps.”

Mix presets have been adjusted to make footsteps less pronounced, and the studio has even combined “the volume of local and non-local player slide sounds to be more in-line with other movements.”

A wave of changes have been made with weapon tuning, perks, maps, and modes. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II will launch on October 28, 2022, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam. A release date for Warzone 2.0 was confirmed recently, as reported by GameLuster.
