Modern Warfare III Will Launch On The PS4 & Xbox One

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be coming to last-gen platforms despite puzzlement among players as to whether the title would become exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. In doing so, this would leave last-gen players high and dry without a chance to play the next installment in the popular series.

The pre-launch for Modern Warfare III has been troubled following endless leaks on social media, which has left many scratching their heads. This is particularly regarding platform launches.

Twitter user and content creator TheGamingRevolution was the first to point a listing for Call of Duty on the official Xbox webpage saying that the threequel was, for an unknown reason, only accessible to those who owned an Xbox Series X or S.

Activision’s Makarov reveal trailer confirmed the title would land on the PS4 and PS5. So, Xbox One players were undoubtedly confused by this information. Would Modern Warfare III be absent from Microsoft’s last-gen consoles altogether?

The Xbox website, thankfully, has since been updated and confirms Modern Warfare III will be available to players on Xbox One and Series platforms. Courtesy of a report from the team at IGN, they verified the listings from Playstation and Xbox were equally legitimate. In short, last and next-gen players will be able to experience Modern Warfare III at their leisure as it debuts this November, leaving no man behind.

A worldwide reveal event is scheduled to take place in Warzone 2 on August 17, so if you want to catch it the day of, make sure you’ve updated the battle-royale game before then – we all know how long those updates can take if you’ve got wonky WiFi.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III is set to launch on November 10, 2023.
