Where to Find the Battle-Worn Shark in Octopath Traveler 2
The Battle-Worn Shark is an optional boss found in the Sundering Sea region near Canalbrine. To get there, you can complete Partitio’s Scent of Commerce quest in Topu’hopu, which will grant you access to a boat. Once you have your own boat, head south from Canalbrine Harbor into the Sundering Sea region. As you make your way west of the rock island, a shark fin appears in the water. When near it, a prompt will appear onscreen “The sense of danger is overwhelming. Are you certain you wish to proceed? – click ‘Yes’ if you wish to face the Battle-Worn Shark.
How to Defeat the Battle-Worn Shark in Octopath Traveler 2
Octopath Traveler 2’s Battle-Worn Shark is a formidable opponent, with 60,000 HP and powerful attacks. To ensure success in your battle against the Shark, it is essential that you prepare your party members beforehand. Make sure they are in top condition before engaging. Before engaging in a battle with the Battle-Worn Shark, take a closer look at its stats:
- HP: 60,000
- Shield: 9
- Weaknesses (First Phase): Polearm, Dagger, Staff, Fire
- Weaknesses (Second Phase): Sword, Dagger, Axe, Lightning
- Steal: Nothing
- Drop: Lost Tribe’s Blade
The Stats are impressive, and you must prepare your party according to them. The Battle-Worn Shark initially attacks multiple targets, dealing high but manageable damage. However, inflicting enough damage on the shark will trigger a shift in its attack style. It will begin focusing on one adversary and launch more powerful strikes.
If you don’t manage to reduce the shark’s weaknesses fast enough, it will begin charging a powerful attack that can possibly kill your party. Definitely consider having a Cleric or an Apothecary in your party to heal your characters, as you will be taking a lot of hits. Another good option is to have a Warrior use the Incite skill so the Shark will always attack it and leave your other party members alone.
Defeating the Battle-Worn Shark bestows the Lost Tribe’s Blade as a reward. This is a Sword weapon that provides a slim chance to instantly kill a target. Moreover, you’ll have access to the chest in the west containing Gimmick Goggles as well as the dungeon in the bay beyond. The Gimmick Goggles are a Headgear item that raise Physical Defense, Elemental Defense, and Evasion.
