How to Complete Will Research For Money Side Quest in Octopath Traveler 2
To begin this quest, you must head to the town of Montwise in the Crestlands and you’ll find an interesting NPC: the Octopus Researcher. Interact with him, and he will provide crucial information about his research. His goal is to determine if Octopuffs are a type of octopus or a unique species. But in order to complete his research, he needs financial support from a reliable source. You must help the Researcher fund his study in order for him to reach his goals!
To do that, head to the Conning Creek in the Harborlands, and step inside the Tavern. You’ll find an NPC wearing a jacket and a feather in his hat—this is Octopus Enthusiast. Talk to him, then use a Path Action to Guide with Temenos, Allure with Agnea, Befriend with Ochette, or Hire him with Partitio. When you’re done, lead him back to the Octopus Researcher in Montwise.
The Researcher will demonstrate a sketch of an Octopuff to the Enthusiast. Upon viewing the sketch, the Enthusiast expresses admiration and agrees to fund his research. After getting the fund for his research, the Researcher will offer a token of appreciation: the Octopuff Pot. Equip this accessory to a member of your active party to have a higher chance of encountering Octopuff Travelers and earning lots of Leaves, EXP, and JP!
