Elden Ring Rumours Re-Emerge As Bandai Namco Set to Appear At E3

The hype surrounding Elden Ring has been widespread for some time, but now anticipation is as high as ever after Bandai Namco has been listed to appear at E3.

Bandai Namco’s name has appeared on the E3 2021’s participating companies list. Whilst this does not explicitly mean anything about Elden Ring will be announced, FromSoftware has been noticeably quiet about the project that has been in development since it was fittingly announced at E3 2019.

There has been a lot of speculation circling the project such as numerous leaks including possible trailer footage, which was never officially debunked as fake or commented on by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco.

More recently, Xbox News fan IdleSloth shared an alleged screenshot from the trailer on Twitter, indicating that a worldwide reveal is coming on June 14. Significantly, this falls on a Monday during E3, with the event set to run from Saturday June 12 to Tuesday June 15. The screenshot also suggests that Elden Ring will be a Xbox exclusive, as there is no PlayStation logo in sight. However, the official Elden Ring website says that the game will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The original source for this screenshot is the public bulletin board 4chan, so this leak should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Whilst all this may seem positive, it is worth bearing in mind that Elden Ring is not the only game Bandai Namco has in development. We’re equally likely to get  look at either Tales of Arise or Scarlet Nexus at E3.

Elden Ring is described as “FromSoftware’s largest game to-date and is set in a sprawling realm steeped in a rich and bloody history” created by Dark Souls‘ Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Regardless, gamers around the world can rejoice knowing that E3 2021 will go ahead in some capacity!
