Do you want to hear the latest fan theory making the rounds concerning the release of the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6?
Without a doubt in mind, this latest rumour is one of the best, so here goes. It all came about from a recent GTA Online Update. In a post shared via the Rockstar Games X (formerly Twitter) account, the studio encouraged players to jump into the game and take part in the Moon Festival.
The image featured in the post shows two characters in red Happy Moon tees. Nothing to report here. In the background is the moon on the right and the Vinewood sign (partially obscured) behind the two characters. The moon plays a significant role in this daft theory.

A Reddit user by the name of ApprehensiveTop8927 pointed out that the Vinewood sign is obscured from view in such a way only the V and I (together they make the latin numeral VI – 6). Subsequently, this has led fans to believe the image could be connected to the release of GTA 6.
However, this is not the daftest theory from the GTA fandom. The best is still to come. So, the moon sits in the sky off to the right, and one fan has highlighted something, seemingly, significant. In a post from @Dirty_Worka, as seen above, they noted that the moon in the picture is in its Waning Gibbous phase, mirroring real life.
“Rockstar really does like hiding stuff in plain sight and they’re a very clever bunch,” @Dirty_Worka says. “Part of me wouldn’t be surprised if they did something like this.”
The moon is expected to be in its Waning Gibbous phase today (October 2) and again on November 1, 2023. “Could this latest Tweet not only tease VI, but point to the next big announcement?”
