You Can’t Hide From Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach

Today’s PlayStation State of Play digital showcase included a treat for horror fans – the first official look at gameplay for Security Breach, the recently announced upcoming title in the popular jump-scare filled stealth/survival series, Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Described as “the most ambitious Five Nights at Freddy’s” game yet, Security Breach takes place in a new location known as “Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex.” Poor player character Gregory, as with all unlucky individuals hired to work night shifts as a security guard at a Freddy’s location, must survive each night by running and hiding from the murderous animatronics stalking him. Even the series’ largest location – a three-story mega entertainment complex – and assistance from a female security guard might not be enough to ensure Gregory’s continued survival.

As expected for a Five Nights at Freddy’s game, Security Breach will feature plenty of brand new terrifying animatronics, this time with a “glam band” theme. The animatronics include new characters Montgomery Gator, Roxanne Wolf and unnamed sun-and moon-faced animatronics, as well as new “Glamrock” versions of returning favorites: Chica the Chicken and, of course, the terrifying Freddy Fazbear himself. “Vanny,” a rabbit speculated to be a human in a suit rather than an animatronic, will also appear as a major villain.

While the designs of these new animatronics were leaked due to a mis-timed post last year from pop culture merch company FunkoPop, this trailer let us see the new characters in action, and it was downright horrifying as always. Even the brightly colored, neon-lit new location and the ability to hide inside a colorful ball pit can’t make Freddy and co. any less scary.

Currently, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 5 some time later in 2021. PlayStation 4 and PC releases are also planned for a later date.
