HBO’s The Last Of Us – Two New TV Spots

With the release date for HBO’s adaptation of The Last Of Us only a few weeks away, two exclusive TV spots have been shared on social media in the lead-up to the premiere episode. While most of the footage recaps moments we’ve already seen, the first of the two promos shares a glimpse at an interaction between Joel and Ellie, one of which shares inspiration from the source material’s dialogue. “If you’re with me, there are some rules you’ve got to follow, are we clear?” Pedro Pascal’s Joel says. “What you say, goes,” Ellie responds.

In the second TV spot, the footage focuses on Bill removing a gas mask while Joel and Sarah, in the prologue sequence from the game, narrowly avoid an explosion as a car ploughs into the back of another. Later in the clip, Joel can be heard yelling at someone to run before we get a new look at Melanie Lynskey’s Kathleen looking distressed. We even see Ellie in a scene telling Joel: “We finish what we started.”

This particular line is delivered toward the end of the game, as Joel and Ellie reach the Firefly hospital in Utah, a location that will feature in the series after set photos were shared online earlier in the year.

The Last Of Us will premiere on Jan. 15, 2023, and will run for nine episodes. Are you excited to watch the show?
