Madden NFL 21 Tops PS4 Downloads In August

In a post on the Playstation Blog, Sony has revealed the downloads charts for August. In the first of the post’s four categories, Madden NFL 21, (which officially debuted on August 28), topped the US/Canada charts for the most-downloaded PS4 game. Taking second and third were Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima, respectively.

Further down the list includes last year’s Madden NFL 20 in 16th place, as well as highly popular jelly bean battle-royale Fall Guys (which also claimed the number one crown in the EU charts), UFC 4, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto V, making up additional places within the top ten.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series has seen tremendous success, topping the PS VR charts in the US/Canada and EU. Beat Saber, Superhot VR, and Job Simulator take second, third, and fourth respective places across both regions.

Hyperscape, Ubisoft’s latest battle-royale venture, topped the Free-to-Play charts in both regions, followed by Call Of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite, (while it’s DLC The Yellowjacket Pack, dominated the DLC and Expansions lists in both categories, followed by their Derby Dynamo Challenge Pack and the Batman Caped Crusader Pack in second and fourth places.

Despite a notable absence in the August charts, Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part II recently became the most completed game for the PS4, according to Playstation trophy data. Players receive the customary What I Had To Do” trophy as the credits roll, with a total of 58% completing the campaign. 

Meanwhile, the beta for Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers became the most downloaded PlayStation beta of all time. The beta topped the list for not only the PS4, but it’s predecessor, the PS3.

In an official infographic from Square Enix, the studio revealed that the beta attracted over six million players, 200 million Hulk smashes and more than 300 million enemies defeated,
