Mew Vs. Mewtwo Event Coming To Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Legendary rivals Mew and Mewtwo are making their way to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the latest generation of Pokemon games. These iconic Mythical Pokemon, which originated in the very first Pokemon games, were not previously available in either Scarlet or Violet. They will come to the game as part of a limited time “Mew vs. Mewtwo” event, announced during the August 8 Pokemon Presents livestream event.

Players can unlock their very own Mew starting today by entering the code “GetY0urMew” in the Mystery Gift menu in Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet. The Mew’s Tera Type and Nature will be randomized, and it will start at Level 5. Then, players will be able to train up this Mew over the next several weeks in preparation for Mewtwo’s debut as a limited-time Tera Raid encounter.

Mewtwo bearing the Mightiest Mark will appear in Tera Raids beginning on September 1st, 2023. The event will last three weeks. Groups of up to four Trainers can challenge Mewtwo together. Players who successfully defeat Mewtwo in Tera Raids will have a chance to catch this Mythical Pokemon and add it to their roster.

The Pokemon Presents event showed the Mewtwo wearing a Psychic Tera-type Headdress, so make sure to train up Pokemon that are strong against Psychic. Something special will also happen if you bring Mew into battle against Mewtwo – it might even get a bonus that will help it in its epic battle against its rival! To prepare for battling Mewtwo, two waves of Tera Raid events will be held throughout the month of August. Players will be able to earn Tera Shards, EXP Candy, and other items that will help them ready their Pokemon for their greatest Tera Raid challenge yet.

Plenty of new content is coming to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet over the next few months with the release of the “Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” DLC. With tons of difficult battles on the horizon, Mew and Mewtwo will be powerful allies for every Pokemon Trainer to add to their team!
