How to Complete The Pearl Hunt Side Story in Octopath Traveler 2
To begin this side quest, head to the intriguing land of Tropu’hopu, specifically the Floating Theater area. There, you’ll come across a man who’s desperately searching for his precious pearls. Upon meeting him, strike up a conversation, and you’ll learn about his lost pearl necklace – it accidentally broke apart, and the pearls went everywhere! He’s been trying his best to collect them all but still hasn’t found every last one. Now, he’s kindly asking for your assistance in locating those three remaining elusive pearls.
To retrieve the first missing pearl, find a Fisherwoman who lives in the town’s farthest northwestern home. Upon finding her, engage in conversation, and she’ll let you know she found a pearl lying on the ocean floor. Use the Steal (Throne), Entreat (Agnea), or Mug (Osvald) Path Actions to get your hands on the precious pearl!
To find the second elusive pearl, make your way to the weapon shop. Once there, you’ll notice a man guarding a ladder at the end of the path on the right. Knock him unconscious and proceed to descend the ladder. To knock him out, you can use Provoke (Ochette), Soothe (Castti), Ambush (Throne), or Challenge (Hikari). There, you’ll find a chest patiently waiting to reveal the pearl inside. Open the chest to get the second missing pearl.
The last pearl is held by a Beastling in the main area of town. He’s found at night, so you can Entreat him with Agnea or Mug him with Osvald to grab the pearl.
Now that you’ve found all three of the lost pearls, go back to the man who’s looking for them and give them to him. After a brief cut scene unfolds, you’ll successfully finish the quest and receive a reward of 15,000 Leaves, a Cupid’s Bow, and an Empowering Lychee.
