Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Lowest Player Count Of Sony PC Releases

We reported just two weeks ago that Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves had the lowest Steam release day concurrent players to date of the PlayStation PC releases. This record has been broken, as unfortunately Sackboy: A Big Adventure has now opened even lower.

According to SteamDB chartsSackboy: A Big Adventure had a peak concurrent player count of just 592 players on the day of its release. This is a huge drop from the already low Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, which had a 7,973 concurrent player debut. Looking at player counts for the days following Sackboy‘s Oct. 27 release, things haven’t gotten much better. The game’s all-time peak concurrent players was yesterday Oct. 30, with a meagre 610 gamers playing the game.

Steam gamers gave Sackboy the sack, as the game has the lowest daily release player count of any PlayStation game on the PC platform.

You can find a full updated list of the major PlayStation releases on Steam and their day one peak concurrent player counts below.

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered – 60,210 players
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition – 56,557 players
  • God of War – 49,411 players
  • Days Gone – 18,287 players
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection – 7,973 players
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure – 592 players

Player counts are not entirely indicative of sales, nor are they suggesting anything about the quality of the game. Sackboy showed off some nice features after its PC reveal, including ray-tracing that even its original PS5 counterpart doesn’t offer. The game has a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam too, with reviews praising it for fun value but some criticising its price tag. It’s a shame that the original PS5 game was overshadowed by Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and the game still has not yet found an audience on PC.
