Secret Call of Duty: Warzone Cutscene Sets Up The Return of Soap MacTavish

A new cutscene appears to conclude the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone story arc, as well as set up the return of Soap MacTavish. Credit for discovering the secret cutscene goes to YouTuber Geeky Pasttimes, who posted a clip online of the game’s latest intel mission, which brings a major storyline to a close.

In the cutscene, there’s a tense showdown between Captain Price and terrorist Victor Zakahev within Bunker 10. Zakahev prepares to launch a nuclear attack, and for a moment, it appears there’s nothing that can stop the impending launch, before some well-placed shots take out Zakahev. Price emerges from the shadows to finish the job, killing Zakahev and aborting the rocket’s launch. The cutscene concludes with Price and his assembled team (Farah, Kyle, Ghost, Alex, and Nikolai). He receives a distress call from MacTavish as they inform him they’re heading his way.

According to a post from ModernWarzone, there’s plenty more Modern Warfare content to come. Chief among them are two new Operators (MacTavish and Shane Sparks), three new weapons, and multiple new maps, which include Killhouse and Al-Raab Airbase.

The launch of Season One of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has been far from smooth-sailing, with the unexpected removal of Double XP Tokens and a recent invisibility hack leaving players fighting unseen enemies within Verdansk. This has led to Treyarch removing attack helicopters temporarily until they can find a fix for the glitch.

While it’s fair to say these problems have not been received well by the wider COD community, the arrival of Soap MacTavish as a new operator should certainly defuse some tension for the time being.

Warzone recently surpassed more than 85 million players. The franchise, Activision says, has generated more than $3 billion over the last year with over 200 million people playing Call Of Duty throughout 2020.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
