The Last Of Us Has “More Story To Tell” Says Series Creator

Neil Druckmann has delivered an update on the future of The Last Of Us franchise, but again, it’s not much. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Druckmann suggested that there was “more story to tell” from the acclaimed Naughty Dog series but did not confirm whether The Last Of Us Part III would see the light of day.

The director has left the door wide open for a potential sequel following the release of The Last Of Us Part II in 2020 after an industry insider recently suggested that The Last Of Us Part III was the next game in development at Naughty Dog. On New Year’s Day, Druckmann appeared to play down “insider info” connected to the studio, tweeting that fans should be “wary” of leaks, adding that much of what we might hear will be “false.”

Last year, after speaking on an episode of the Script Apart Podcast, thanks to a report from IGN, Druckmann said that he and his co-writer on the sequel, Halley Gross, had written “an outline for a story” but added that they would not making it. “I hope one day can see the light of day – that explores a little bit what happens after this game,” Druckmann added.
