The Last Of Us Season 2 Expected “End of 2024, Early 2025”

As the first season of The Last Of Us on HBO wraps and viewership figures go through the roof, audiences are craving more, but it could be some time until we see more from Joel and Ellie’s adapted adventure.

Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the series, made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in the UK, and provided fans with an update on filming and a potential release date for the next season. “It will be a while. I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, beginning of next,” the former Game of Thrones actress said. “So it’ll probably be the end of 2024, early 2025.” Ouch!

The Last Of Us.
What hurts more, being bitten by a clicker or waiting another two years for more of The Last of Us?

Ramsey’s statement falls in line with her co-star, Pedro Pascal’s recent comments on when audiences could expect cameras to start rolling on Season 2. It was also further confirmed that Ramsey would not be recast for the new season, despite the series jumping ahead with an older Ellie. If there’s a substantial gap from one season to the next, it could be advantageous to the show, since the sequel video game takes place four years in the future. This would give the cast, particularly Ramsey given her young age, a slightly older look as time has passed since the recording of Season 1.
