PS5 Leaker Hints Next Playstation Event Is Due In August

According to an industry insider, renowned for accurately predicting Playstation leaks ahead of time, Roberto Serrano, a new PS5 event is due to take place on August 6. The event, if this prediction from Serrano turns out to be, is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT | 4 p.m. ET | 10 p.m. CEST.

Recently, Serrano revealed the date for June’s PS5 Future Of Gaming event. This next showcase is due to go live across Youtube, Twitch, and PlayStation’s website, with the links embedded into Serrano’s post, seen below.

Back in June, a leak on Twitter appeared to suggest that Sony had revealed the PS5’s start-up screen during the Future Of Gaming presentation. Then, as the screen fills with glittering particles and a ray of light, the Playstation logo appears at the center, headed by the sentence: “press the PS Button on your controller.”

A short tone is heard at the end of the clip above ambient strings and pads in the background, indicating the PS button has been pressed. Of course, this short clip is purely speculative and will remain so unless Sony confirms otherwise.

Sony’s Future Of Gaming event confirmed a handful of forthcoming titles. These included Horizon: Forbidden WestSpider-Man: Miles MoralesHitman 3Gran Turismo 7, an updated GTA V, and Resident Evil 8: Village.

In an interview with The Guardian, PlayStation’s EVP for Europe, Simon Rutter shared details on how one of PS5’s new titles, Gran Turismo 7, would take advantage of the next-gen console’s technological advancements.

He said: “Gran Turismo 7 is going to benefit from almost every single technological enhancement that we have in Playstation 5″,

The loading times for Gran Turismo 7 will be, according to Rutter, “next to nothing compared to what they have been in the past.”
