During Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest 2022, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finally received a release date. The half-shell beat ’em up launches June 16 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, the release date wasn’t the only surprise from developer Tribute Games —Casey Jones was also announced as a playable character.
Casey Jones will accompany the Ninja Turtles on their quest to stop Shredder. Jones comes equipped with his signature hockey stick and mask in a new trailer debuted at the event. During the reveal, the developer stated, “Casey’s balance of range, speed, and power makes him a formidable all-around threat.” Casey Jones joins Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, April O’Neil, and Master Splinter in this take on the classic beat ’em up.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will also feature 6-player co-op, allowing six players to play together either online or locally. For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, the game will be available at launch.
Last year, Shredder’s Revenge was announced at Indie World Showcase. The title is currently under development at Montreal-based studio Tribute Games. The developer is known for its retro-style games like Panzer Paladin and Flintbook. This TMNT game was a massive hit with fans at this year’s PAX East 2022 convention, and with a release right around the corner, Shredders Revenge is undoubtedly a highly-anticipated summer title.
