Warzone’s Final Fifth Season Launches August 24

The fifth and final season of Call of Duty: Warzone, titled Last Stand, has been announced by Activision – and will launch on August 24. With the studio gearing up for one of the biggest seasons of the battle-royale yet, it further means the arrival of Warzone 2.0 (placeholder title) could be closer than we think.

Last Stand, the final season of content for Call of Duty: Vanguard, will deliver “major updates to all three gaming experiences.” an official blog post from Activision reads.“In Warzone, Caldera’s Peak is ready to rumble — will you wreak havoc or defend the island from sabotage? In Multiplayer, deploy to two new fast-paced maps, Beheaded and Fortress. In Zombies, continue the Dark Aether saga and face off against Kortifex the Deathless in Vanguard’s round-based finale, “The Archon.”

Last Stand, described as an “epic finale,” will see the return of some of Call of Duty’s most formidable villains for the last run – including “the charismatic Raul Menendez, the ruthless Khaled Al-Asad, the brainwashed Gabriel T. Rorke, and the merciless He “Seraph” Zhen-Zhen.”

As previously reported by GameLuster, a leak earlier in the week suggested that Warzone 2.0 would arrive on November 16. If the leak is proven to be correct, it would mean the fifth and final season of the current Warzone mode would run for two months – which is about the average timeline for a season.

An update for Call of Duty: Vanguard goes live from 9 AM PT on August 23, followed by The Last Stand at the same time on August 24. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II will launch on October 28, 2022, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam. For more Call of Duty content, a Youtuber revealed a comprehensive breakdown of the cancelled campaign for Black Ops 4 – the only game in the series not to feature a single-player mode.
